Almost all mail destroyed in mail truck fire in Port St. Lucie
"The fire erupted and spread too quickly for the carrier to recover any of the mail or packages, Debbie Fetterly, the USPS Spokesperson for the South Florida District, told CSB12 News. All mail with the exception of one item, a birth certificate, was destroyed. Fetterly said the birth certificate flew out of the truck when the vehicle caught fire. While it was partially burned, the address was still legible and hand-delivered to the customer."
