Title: NALC's Young Explains Route Adjustment Decision
Tags:
Blog Entry: According to the June 2009 NALC 132 Branch Newsletter, NALC President Young at the National Rap Session in Las Vegas defended his decision on agreeing to the new Route Adjustment Process: "It was apparent that President Young was irritated with some of our brothers and sisters that have blogged their displeasure with him for agreeing to the aforementioned process. Specifically with one of our brothers that had given hime the dumb a## of the year award. President Young explained that we had four options, considering the desperate situation the postal service faces. We could give up our COLAs, we could give back our next raise, we could face immediate layoffs, or we could work with the postal service to quickly adjust routes to reflect the dramatic reductions in mail volume."
